Richard Lee joins the CSR board

CSR Limited today announced that Richard Lee hasjoined the board as a non-executive director, and has been appointed to the company’saudit committee.

Richard has 19 years’ experience in investmentbanking and the finance industry. He isa former chief executive officer of the N M Rothschild Australia Group where hedeveloped the bank’s metal financing activities and broadened the businessextensively into new growth sectors and services. Prior to his investment banking career,Richard held a number of senior roles in CSR’s Sugar division.

CSR Chairman Ian Blackburnesaid he was very pleased to welcome Richard back to CSR as a member of theboard. “Richard’s expertise ininvestment banking and commodity markets will be particularly helpful to CSR asthe company continues its strategy to generate value adding growth.”

“Having started his career at CSR, Richard knowsour sugar business well and will bring valuable insight to the company.”

Richard is chairman of SalmatLimited and a director of Ridley Corporation Limited.

A Rhodes Scholar, he is a fellow and NSW councilmember of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a founding councilmember of the Institute of Neuromuscular Research and a director of the NorthShore Heart Research Foundation.

Richard will stand for election at CSR’s annualgeneral meeting in July 2005.

As previously advised Carolyn Hewsonwill retire from the board at the conclusion of the AGM following 10 years ofservice.
